PURPOSE:To correctly set the position of a torch by so mounting that an end of a proximity switch comes close to an end of the torch when an expansion actuator is extended. CONSTITUTION:An air cylinder 4 is set so that an end of a proximity switch 6 comes close to an end of a torch 1 when the cylinder 4 is extended. When cutting is performed by the torch 1, the air cylinder 4 is extended to project the switch 6 and the torch 1 is brought close to the work. When the distance between the work and switch 6 becomes a predetermined distance, the switch 6 is turned ON. Then, after the position of the torch 1 is set, the cylinder 4 is contracted and the switch 6 is retreated to where it does not obstruct the torch 1 to perform cutting. At this time, the switch is covered with a cover 7 and protected from sputtering. |
