<p>PURPOSE:To properly prevent the meandering of the material to be rolled by detecting the horizontal load of width direction received with a pair of vertical rolls with the two load detectors, calculating the difference of the horizontal load detected and controlling the roll gap of left and right based on the computed difference. CONSTITUTION:The horizontal and width directional load working to the driving side 1a and the free side 1b of the vertical rolls set on the rear surface of the rolling mill are respectively detected with the load cells 2a, 2b, and the detected load signals are sent to the computing element 4 with the horizontal load detector 3. By calculating the difference with the above element 4 which calculates the difference of the two load signals sent from the horizontal load detector 3, based on the calculated difference, the leveling controller 5 controls the leveling of the horizontal roll 6. Therefore, the meandering of the material to be rolled on the roughing mill can be prevented properly.</p> |
