In an aircraft including a control column placed laterally with respect to the pilot's seat, a screen (14) and at least one keyboard (16, 18) of an on-board electronic library are placed on the instrument panel, in the axis (Y) of this seat. For convenience, these elements can be retracted into the instrument panel. They can advantageously be associated with a ledge (54), also deployable in front of the pilot. <IMAGE>
