The fastener includes an arm-mounting support (B2) located on the lower surface of a support (B1) mounted on the arm of a hydraulic shovel, the said support for mounting an arm (B2) being provided with a pair of spindles (1, 1') fixed to it and located spaced from one another. A pair of holding arms (2, 2') is located at one end of the fastener close to the load, each holding arm being provided with a hub (3, 3') via which it is pivotably mounted on one of the said fixed spindles of the support for mounting an arm (B2). A hydraulic thrust cylinder (4) is mounted between the said holding arms via mounting spindles (5, 5'). <IMAGE>
