<p>The apparatus comprises a bell-shaped enclosure containing a plurality of stacked horizontal trays (4). Each tray is provided with transverse rotors (5) arranged close to each other so that they cover the whole length of the tray. The rotors are provided with peripheral blades and are rotatably driven so as to form a suspension of the material and to move it along the tray. On the upper levels, the suspended material is heated, through conduction and radiation, by heating layers (11) extending between the trays. The apparatus can be used to provide uniform, controlled heat treatment of the base material in order to obtain a product having the desired characteristics.</p> |
