PURPOSE:To obtain a broad band and stable operation with simple constitution by composing a higher-harmonic generator of a rectifying circuit. CONSTITUTION:When a higher-harmonic generator 15 is composed of a full-wave rectifying circuit, its rectification output is a frequency-doubled wave. Therefore, when an input frequency is f1 and an output frequency is f2, a band-pass filter 16 applies a signal of 2f2 to a frequency converter 12 to obtain a conversion output of a frequency f1+ or -2f2, and a band-pass filter 13 extracts an output frequency of frequency f1-2f2, i.e. f2=f1/3. Then, this output signal is amplified by an amplifier 14 and applied to the higher-harmonic generator 15, whose output is rectified to output a frequency-doubled output. Since the higher-harmonic generator 15 only performs rectification, it operates immediately after the application of the input signal and does not require synchronous oscillation, thereby widening its band. |
