<p>A one-chip microcomputer performs the following processings: a program stored in a memory (53) is decoded by a circuit (80) for generating control signals; when the result of the decoding is an instruction of controlling the data memory, it is judged whether the object addressed is an internal or external memory; a signal representing the result of the judgment is fed to a circuit (90) for controlling external memories; when the object is the external memory, a cycle counter (70) for performing timing control is stopped temporarily, and according to the control signal outputted from the circuit (80) and the signal representing the result of the judgment, control of the external memory is performed by controlling the circuit (90) for controlling the external memory; and data is inputted into the external memory and outputted from the same. Thereby, the same operational instructions for the internal memory can be used for the external memory.</p> |
