摘要 <p>Rotor position information for a switched reluctance (SR) motor drive (25) is obtained indirectly in response to the motor phase inductance (Lph). An oscillator (45) generates a signal having a time period (T) that is a function of the inductance (Lph). The signal is processed by other circuits (100) to obtain proper instants of commutation. In the preferred motor drive, the energized phase windings (W1-W6) are isolated from the oscillator (45), and periodic signals are obtained which have periods (T) indicating the phase inductances (Lph) of the unenergized phase windings. The periods (T) are compared to threshold values to obtain position indicating signals (S, S'), and commutating signals (ø1, ø2, ø3) are derived from the position indicating signals.</p>
