PURPOSE:To simplify the piping system on a movable mold structure side and contrive to improve the reliability of the maintenance of piping systems by a method wherein air, steam and cooling water are made selectively chargeable to and dischargeable from a movable side steam chamber, which is provided on a fixed mold structure side, under mold closing condition. CONSTITUTION:A molding material feeding part 34 is provided on a fixed mold structure 3 side so as to feed and fill prefoamed beads. Further, on the fixed mold structure 3 side, the charging system and discharging system of air, steam and cooling water for respective steam chambers are collectively provided. And, when a movable mold structure 7 comes into position closely contacting with the fixed mold structure 3 through the running of a truck 6, the rotation of a motor 11 is stopped. Further, with said close contacting action, the charging pipes 62, 63 and 64 of air, steam and cooling water for moving side steam chamber and pipes to be charged 70, 71 and 72 of air, steam and cooling water are automatically joined and connected to each other through a sealing packing 69 and a discharging pipe 67 for the moving side steam chamber and a pipe to be discharged 73 are also automatically joined and connected to each other through a sealing packing 69. Furthermore, just before the end of the mold closing process, a locking means 15 engages, resulting in keeping the fixed mold structure 3 and the movable mold structure 7 in the state closely contacting with each other until just before the mold opening process starts. |
