<p>The arm support for tennis players is an accessory for accompanying the arm swing of a tennis player during lessons and exercises. The support forms an extension of the racket so that the arm and the handle form a whole and the positions of the arm and the wrist remain fixed. The support diverts vibration occurring on the racket and improves the user's technique by preventing the incorrect movements which lead to excessive strain on the muscles of the fore-arm and cause known muscle injuries to the elbow and the fore-arm (tennis elbow). The support consists of a shaft (1) made of a synthetic material of which the front four centimetres are folded (3) at an angle of 45°, and is provided with an opening by means of which it is fastened to the racket. The back comprises an armband (2) which fits around the arm sufficiently loosely to be able to rotate freely around the axis of the arm when the user changes grip. Said support can be moulded in a single piece or assembled from a shaft made of a synthetic material and a leather or textile armband. The shaft and the armband should be available in 'small', 'medium', 'large' and 'extra large' sizes. The support screws onto the racket and is fixed semirigidly thereto so that it diverts vibration.</p> |
