<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a catalyst converter with high durability by providing electrodes for excitation on a honeycomb structure body with many through holes, providing a resistance adjusting mechanism between the electrodes, and heating a gas fluid in the through holes of the honeycomb structure body. CONSTITUTION:Electrodes 11 are set at two locations on the outer wall 10 of a honeycomb structure body. Slits 12 serving as a resistance adjusting mechanism are provided at six locations in the axial direction of through holes. A heat-resistant inorganic adhesive of zirconia is filled on the outer peripheries 13 of the slits 12 as insulation sections. A material heated by excitation, e.g., stainless steel, Fe-Cr-Al, Fe-Cr, Fe-Al, Fe-Ni, W-Co, Ni-Cr, is used for the constituting material of the honeycomb structure body. A resistance adjustment type heater which has excellent temperature rise characteristic and uniform heating characteristic and can control the heating property is obtained. This heater is useful for a catalyst converter.</p> |
