PURPOSE:To always obtain swirl of appropriate strength by dividingly forming sub-manifolds corresponding to cylinder groups in which cylinders are not overlapped each other in their suction strokes, and connecting meeting parts of respective sub-manifolds to an air cleaner through resonance passages. CONSTITUTION:Because a main manifold 3 to distribute and supply air into main ports 2a formed into helical ports is provided with a chamber 4, air is uniformly introduced to respective combustion chambers with high charging efficiency to form stable swirl. Sub-manifolds 8a, 8b to distribute and supply air into subports 2b formed into directional ports are dividingly formed corresponding to cylinder groups in which respective suction strokes are not overlapped each other, the respective sub-manifolds 8a, 8b are connected to an air cleaner 5 through resonance passages 9a, 9b and hence air is introduced with especially high charging efficiency. Hereby, dispersion of swirl among respective cylinders is minified, inertia supercharging of high efficiency is performed with the sub-manifolds, and swirl speed can be variably controlled. |
