PURPOSE:To impart animal hair fiber with shrink-resistance, hydrophobic property, etc., without impairing animal hair-like touch by treating animal hair with polyamino acid or its combination with a crosslinking agent, or by treating it with said combination after reducing it. CONSTITUTION:The objective modification can be accomplished by (A) treating animal hair with polyamino acid, (B) treating it with a combination of the polyamino acid and a crosslinking agent, or (C) treating it with said combination after reducing it. This treatment will also improve the tensile properties (mechanical strength and elongation), etc., of the animal hair fiber. |
