PURPOSE:To prevent an original from being stopped under a state that it is caught by the exit of a carrying passage and to properly form an image by carrying the original as much as a carrying quantity obtained by adding a quantity, which is previously fixed, to a prescribed quantity when it is carried over a contact glass. CONSTITUTION:The original is carried on the contact glass 17 through the exit of the carrying passage and ejected after it is exposed and scanned by an optical system. Otherwise, it is inverted by an original inversion mechanism 37, reversely carried, supplied over the glass 17 again and ejected after it is continuously exposed. A timing switch 45 which detects the end of the original is provided at the prescribed position of the return passage 42 of the mechanism 37. Then, when the tail end of the returning original is detected by the switch 45, the original is carried to a position that prescribed size L is added from the left end on the glass 17 and stopped. Therefore, the original is not stopped under the state that the tail end thereof is caught by the exit of the passage 42 and the image is properly formed. |
