PURPOSE:To enhance frictional resistance on a grip part and enable the grip with a smaller force, by using a soft elastic material, e.g. a rubber or a synthetic resin, for a cover for a writing utensil, and specifying the Shore A hardness of the material. CONSTITUTION:A cover 1 is formed from a soft elastic material, e.g. a rubber or a synthetic resin, having a Shore 'A' hardness of from 10 to less than 40. The cover 1 is so formed as to cover substantially the whole of a writing utensil. It is suitable for the cover 1 to have an outer diameter, after fitted over the writing utensil, of 7 to 15mm at least at a grip part and have a material thickness of 1 to 4mm. This is based on consideration of higher frictional resistance and of the feel at the time of gripping. The cover 1 is tubular in shape, and is fitted over nearly the entire length of the writing utensil (pen) 3. The cover 1 is provided with a constricted part 4 at one end thereof on the side of a writing tip (nib), for visibility of the writing tip (nib) and for preventing slippage between the cover 1 and the writing utensil (pen) 3. |
