PURPOSE:To greatly accelerate the oxidation decomposition of odorous components and to rapidly crack excess ozone to prevent the deterioration of catalysts by causing the heat generation of the carriers of the deteriorated catalysts to heat and reactivate the catalysts themselves. CONSTITUTION:Electrodes 2 are respectively mounted to both ends of a main body 1 constituted of a wire net which is a exothermic resistor and conductive wires 3 are connected thereto. The catalysts are deposited on this heat generating base material 5 and plural sheets of such substrates are housed at specified intervals into a cylindrical casing to constitute a deodorizing device. The catalysts deactivate if the odorous components, such as ammonia and hydrogen sulfide, are subjected to the oxidation decomposition in this deodorizing device. The carriers 1 are then made to generate heat to heat the catalysts themselves. The oxidation decomposition of the odorous components is thereby greatly accelerated and further the activity of the catalysts is enhanced by heating. The excess ozone is rapidly cracked, by which the deterioration of the catalysts is prevented and the effect is maintained over a long period of time. |
