PURPOSE:To make an oxidation catalyst, which is obtained by using a compostion contg. W residues and the oxide of metals of one or more kinds of Cu, Mn, Ni and Co, suitable for making environmental contaminating gases contg. sulfur compounds unharmful and make it long in life. CONSTITUTION:This oxidation catalyst is consituted of the W residues separated as insoluble residues in producing W from worframite, and the oxide of metals of one or more kinds of Cu, Mn, Ni and Co. The W residues, the above-mentioned metal oxide, and if necessary, a binder such as alumina cement are mixed, and the mixture is molded by being added with water. The molding is cured in a high temp. steam atmosphere, whereby the hardened molding is obtained. When this is further dried and matured, this catalyst is obtained. As compared to convetional platinum catalysts, this catalyst maintains initial activity for a longer period of time and is longer in life. |
