EDGING METHOD AND DEVICE FOR SLAB

PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of a camber in a slab by heating or cooling the slab in such a manner that the temp. distribution in the transverse direction of the slab is symmetrical to the center in the transverse direction of the slab. CONSTITUTION:An arithmetic unit 22 determines the temp. difference DELTAt in the position symmetrical in the transverse direction of the slab to the center line X0 in the transverse direction of the slab from respective temp. detection signals t0, computes the heat quantity Q necessary for eliminating the temp. difference DELTAt at every prescribed point in the transverse direction of the slab 3 and outputs a control command signal R to a temp. controller 23. The temp. controller 23 outputs an operation command signal P to execute the ignition and extinction of burners 17 and the opening degree regulation of control valves 16 to a temp. regulator 14. The burners 17 and the control valves 16 operate to eliminate the temp. difference DELTAt in the symmetrical positions to the center line X0 in the transverse direction of the slab and the temp. distribution is thereby made into the state symmetrical to the center line X0 in the transverse direction of the slab.
