发明名称 COMPOSITE MATERIAL REINFORCED WITH COATED CARBON FIBER
摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain the subject material having improved oxidation resistance by using carbide, nitride or carbonitride of Si or Hf as the inner layer of a coating layer and using that of Ti or B as the outer layer, thereby filling the thermal crack existing in the coating layer with an oxide in a hot oxidizing atmosphere. CONSTITUTION:The objective composite material reinforced with coated carbon fiber is composed of a coating layer and a carbon-fiber reinforced composite material containing carbon fiber as a reinforcing material in carbon or hard ceramic matrix. In the above material, the compositions of the inner layer and the outer layer of the coating layer have gradient composition continuously varying from the carbide, nitride or carbonitride of Si or Hf to the carbide, nitride or carbonitride of Ti or B. For example, in a CIC composite or CI ceramic composite having double-layered coating of SiC and TiO, TiO2 is produced by the oxidation of TiC in high-temperature oxidation process in spite of the presence of thermal crack and the produced TiO2 is diffused to fill the thermal crack. Accordingly, the oxidation of the substrate through the thermal crack can be suppressed.
