PURPOSE:To continuously produce an optical conduction body having a high- precision refractive index distribution by mixing a monomer having a high volatility and a high refractive index in a polymer dissolving and extruding the result, and irradiating the result with light while volatilizing the monomer to polymerize them. CONSTITUTION:The mixture of a polymer A and a monomer B having a high volatility and a high refractive index is prepared in a cylinder 1 and is quantitatively extruded by a piston 4 while being heated by a heater 3 and is homogeneously mixed by a kneading part 2 and is extruded from a nozzle 5 to obtain a strand fiber 6. This fiber 6 is led to a first volatilizing part 7 filled up with nitrogen to partially volatilize the monomer B, and thereafter, a certain proportion of the monomer is polymerized by a first activating light irradiating part 8. It is polymerized and assimilated through a second volatilizing part 9 and a second activating light throwing part 10, and the strand is taken up around a take-up drum 13. Thus, a fiber is obtained where the refractive index distribution is set with a high precision in accordance with the purpose. |
