<p>PURPOSE:To easily convert an existing computer to enable high speed operation without changing any program by changing a CPU or the other circuit to a high-speed circuit in the conventional computer and further adding an address decision circuit and clock switching circuit. CONSTITUTION:When an address signal to be applied from a CPU 2 to a ROM 1 is a program part to be executed by a high-speed clock without changing the program part currently under execution, a switching signal to be outputted for an address decision circuit 5, which receives this address signal, is turned to 'H' corresponding to the high-speed clock and the CPU 2 is operated at high speed. Reversely, in the case of a program part not to be executed by the high-speed clock without changing the program part currently under execution, the switching signal to be outputted from the circuit 5 is turned to 'L' corresponding to a low-speed clock and the clock to be applied from a low/high- speed generator 4 to the CPU 2 is changed from high-speed to low-speed. Then, the CPU is operated at low speed.</p> |
