The stud 4 has a contact face 9 opposite a bearing surface 11. In the conducting element 1 a recess 3 is formed, with a bearing end 6 and peripheral side wall 5. The stud 4 is presented above the recess 3, abutting against its edge 13. Pressure is exerted parallel to the side wall 5 of the recess on the stud 4, while applying vibrations to it also parallel to the wall 5 until its bearing surface 11 comes against the bottom 6 of the recess, in order to weld the stud 4 laterally to the side wall 5 of the recess 3.
