<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the dielectric breakdown due to static electricity and to manufacture a high-definition element with a good yield by performing the rubbing treatment after preliminarily mutually short-circuiting scanning electrode terminals and signal electrode terminals with a low-resistance connection body. CONSTITUTION:A conductive tape 9 is used as the low-resistance connection body to preliminarily mutually short-circuit scanning electrode terminals 7 and signal electrode terminals 7 before the rubbing treatment of an orienting film. Thus, the potential of scanning electrode terminals 6 and that of signal electrode terminals 7 are equalized, and the potential difference between gate lines and data lines due to static electricity generated at the time of the rubbing treatment, static electricity induced from a human body, or the like is prevented. Consequently, circuits between respective thin film transistors 3, gate lines 4, and gate lines 5 are not broken down to obtain the element free from flaws. When the conductive tape 9 is earthed, the effect is more surely attained.</p> |
