PURPOSE:To sufficiently press and hold a cable by providing the forming periodic uneven surfaces which engage each other as cable holding surfaces of holding teeth, and specifying the period of the uneven surfaces. CONSTITUTION:The cable 26 consists of an optical fiber 18, an optical fiber protection tube 20, a pressure-proof and tensile strength part 22 including a pressure-proof mechanism which protects a tension member which applies tensile force to the cable, and a polyethylene jacket 24. Here, the holding teeth 30A and 30B press and hold the cable 26, but have the periodic uneven surfaces engaging each other as the cable holding surfaces; and the pitch (period) of a top and a top, and a bottom and a bottom of the uneven surfaces is set about once - twice as large as the external diameter of the cable. Consequently, the effective surface of substantial contact with the cable 26 is increased to improve a pressing force. |
