To form connections between tubes (4) used for suction or pneumatically operated devices on a vehicle, the end of the tube is fitted into an intermediate connector (1) which is fitted in turn into a socket (2) with openings each end. The connector has a small end (7) with a groove round it, with a shoulder (13) for locating a ring (8) compressed against a shoulder of a groove (9) inside the socket. The body (9) of the connector has a wide shallow groove at the other end (15) which projects from the socket, and holding the hooked tips (18) of resilient tongues (19) at the ends. A tool is inserted within this region to release the connector from the plug.
