PURPOSE:To reciprocate a moving body efficiently by inducing standing waves, having phase difference of pi/2, in a linear resilient stripe and combining the standing waves by changing the sign of the phase difference between two ultrasonic electrical signals thereby producing a traveling wave, thereafter changing the traveling direction of the traveling wave and switching the traveling direction of the moving body. CONSTITUTION:When the vibration of piezoelectric oscillators 3a-3d are exerted on a linear resilient stripe 1, standing waves are induced in the linear resilient stripe 1. Standing waves are induced for each of two sets of piezoelectric oscillators (3a, 3b), (3c, 3d), and the phase difference is equal to that between the piezoelectric oscillators 3a-3d, i.e., pi/2, and a traveling wave is combined from the standing waves. Traveling direction of the traveling wave varies according to the sign of the phase difference between two standing waves. The tips of the protrusions 1a-1d of the linear resilient stripe 1 are moved elliptically by the traveling wave thus moving a mover 5 reversely from the traveling direction of the traveling wave. |
