The invention relates to 4-(2,4-difluorobi-phenylyl)-2-methyl-4-oxobutanoic acid derivatives having the general formula: (I) wherein X represents a morpholinyl radical or a group of the formula OR, NHR or (CH2)nNR'2 in which R is an alkyl radical of 1 to 4 carbon atoms, R' is a methyl or ethyl radical and n is 2 or 3, and to the pharmaceutically acceptable base addition salts of 4-(2,4-difluorobiphenyl-yl)-2-methyl-4-oxobutanoic acid, having the general formula: (II) wherein B? is an alkaline metal cation, an alkaline earth metal cation, a cyclohexylamine cation or a lysine cation. The compounds of formulas (I) and (II) are particularly useful for the treatment of inflammatory conditions.
