PURPOSE:To make the optical synthesizing and branching module small by applying air-tight sealing to a transmission section provided with at least a light emitting element, a reception section provided with at least a light receiving element, a branching means of wavelength of light and an optical system synthesizing light altogether in an air-tight case. CONSTITUTION:The air-tight case consists of a case 9 in which a light emitting element 1, a light receiving element 2, lenses 6a-6c being an optical system synthesizing light, and an optical filter 7 being a branching means of wavelength of light are altogether contained, and of a cover 12 bonded to the case 9 for final air-tight sealing. A light whose wavelength is lambda1 emitted from the light emitting element 1 is collimated by the lens 6b, transmits through the optical filter 7 and is made incident in the lens 6a. The light emitted from the lens 6a is a converged light, transmits through an air-tight window 10 and is coupled with an optical fiber terminal 5. On the other hand, a light whose wavelength is lambda2 emitted from the optical fiber terminal 5, transmits through the air-tight window 10 and is made incident in the lens 6a and collimated. The collimated light whose wavelength is lambda2 is reflected in the optical filter 7, made incident in the lens 6c and coupled with the light receiving element 2 by the lens 6c. |
