The power-driven screw driver has a housing, with an adjustable support foot (10), so that during a screwing movement, a piston pivots a clamp lever (4) with a ratchet-type clamp wheel (6), and any counter momentum is deflected to an external abutment. The support foot is inserted into a deep bore (2) in the housing (1), which is pref. shaped like e.g. a bone, and extends through the housing at right angles to the movement direction of the working piston (5) for the clamp lever movement. Clamp screws (34) permit the foot to be fixed at any point of the bore.
