The gas turbine comprises a compressor (1), turbine (3), oil-fired burner (7) and an auxiliary compressor (10) supplying air to the oil spray nozzles (12) in the burner. In addition, there is a heat-exchanger (9) in the supply system to the burner. The heat exchanger contains a first passage connected between the main and auxiliary compressors, and through which the sprayer air passes, yielding up heat, and a second one for the water to be sprayed into the burner, and which absorbs heat. USE/ADVANTAGE - Fuel and water feed for gas turbine engine minimises effect on efficiency caused by sprayer requirements.
