The process is for making loose filling or padding materials for packing purposes and uses blank sections punched out of corrugated cardboard, paper etc. The sections are combined to form hollow bodies in the form of cylinders or prisms which can be stuck together (2,3) or inserted in each other. Grooves serving as fold lines are imprinted into the blanks from one side and incisions are made full-length in the blanks for a possible insertion of insert tongues. A cylinder is rolled from a rectangular blank (1) and can be firmly connected to an adhesive strip on the obtusely abutting edges of the narrow sides (2,3). USE/ADVANTAGE - Economical environmentally friendly production and use of loose filling or padding materials.
