PURPOSE:To perform efficient heat exchange by a method wherein a first heat exchange part and second heat exchange part are communicated in a heat pipe, and at the communicated inside, an operating fluid and the vapor of the operating fluid are approximately separated by a partitioning plate. CONSTITUTION:The cross section of a heat pipe 2 consisting a first heat exchange part 20A which performs heat exchange by heat transfer with a recording head 1 is made to be approximately rectangular, and a heat pipe 2A consisting a second heat exchange part 20B which mainly performs heat dissipation is made to be approximately square with the same thickness as the heat pipe 2. Heat generated from an electrical heat conversion element provided to correspond with an ink discharge port flows into a operating fluid filling part 203. Accompanying with convection and evaporation of an operating fluid 207, this heat is quickly diffused to the approximate whole area of the operating fluid filling part 203. Vapor generated at the operating fluid filling part 203 goes through a part without a partitioning plate 206 at the end of the filling part 203 and reaches a vapor passage, goes through the vapor passage and reaches a heat dissipation part 205. The vapor is condensed by heat being taken away, and the condensed operating fluid 107 returns to the operating fluid filling part 203 by going along an inner wall consisting the heat pipe 2A. |
