A clamping device on a piece of furniture is useful for adjustably clamping a profile carrier (1) in a T-groove (4) of a support profile (3). A clamping piece (7) guided in a longitudinal channel (8) of the profile carrier (1) engages with a hammer-shaped clamping head (5) in a T-groove. The clamping piece (7) is connected to an external sliding plate (11). The sliding plate (11) can be clamped against a clamping body (13) anchored to the supporting profile (1) by means of a longitudinal clamping device with a clamping screw (17) and an inclined surface (16).
