PURPOSE:To accurately display an oblique line by generating interpolation scanning line data by performing an arithmetic operation so as to increase the number of scanning lines to almost the least common multiple of the number of scanning lines in sequential scan and that of a display device, and selecting the scanning line for display device in uniform arrangement from increased scanning lines. CONSTITUTION:Sequential scan conversion circuits 4-6 convert a television signal to the R, G, and B signals of the sequential scan by performing digital processing, and a clock and control pulse generating part 3 generates a clock and a control pulse from the synchronous oscillation output of the sequential scan conversion circuits 4-6. Interpolation arithmetic circuits 15-17 generate plural interpolation scanning line signals from the output signals of the sequential scan conversion circuits 4-6 by performing the arithmetic operation, and a control circuit 14 controls the arithmetic operations of the interpolation arithmetic circuits 15-17. Image memory 8-10 store the output signals of the interpolation arithmetic circuits 15-17 for one frame period, and a memory control part 7 controls the write and the readout of the image memory 8-10. Therefore, the number of picture elements in a vertical direction of the display device can be increased by the interpolation arithmetic circuit. In such a way, the oblique line can accurately be displayed. |
