The equipment renders contaminated earth soluble for treatment. It has a treatment chamber (2) with an inlet (4) for the earth, and an outlet (8) for it in suspension. A pipe (12) has a nozzle (14) at the end discharging jets (18c) of liq. into the chamber under pressure. The nozzle end (12c) of the pipe is fixed in position inside the chamber between inlet and outlet and clear of the walls (20).
