The invention relates to a cowled (streamlined) rotor vane. The cowling (16) is equipped with at least one primary calming chamber (19) arranged to receive, during operation, at least part of the cooling fluid and to direct this cooling fluid towards the outside of the cowling (16) via cooling ducts (20) extending through at least a part of the inside of the cowling (16) and joining the primary calming chamber (19) and the zones of the cowling (16) which are arranged to come, during operation, into contact with the corresponding zones of the cowlings of the adjacent similar rotor vanes. <IMAGE>
