<p>The body of this hydrant is composed of a tubular lower support (2), with an outer upper flange (7), and of a tubular raising element (3) which is mounted so as to slide in the support (2) and fitted, at the upper end, with an outer flange and means of locking a plug. These means for holding the hydrant raising element are of the type using, between a longitudinally adjustable element in a body and a groove (15) made in the body (2), a seal (14) gripping the adjustable element. According to the invention, the seal (14) is constituted by a toroidal ring made from synthetic material which has a Shore hardness of between 60 and 70 and is mounted in the tubular body (3) of the raising element with a diametral pregripping interference of between 3 and 7 %, allowing it the possibility of rolling on this portion for adjusting its vertical position, whereas the groove, with which this ring interacts, is made at the upper end of the body (2) of the hydrant, emerges vertically from this end in order to receive the seal and has a groove-bottom diameter (15a) able to exert on the ring (14) a complementary diametral gripping interference for sealing of between 0.5 and 0.1 . <IMAGE></p> |
