PURPOSE:To display the sufficient control effect of a turning control device so as to prevent the generation of turning abnormality by increasing the steering resistance of a steering gear in a case of detecting the generation of turning abnormality, thereby preventing the careless further steering by the steering gear. CONSTITUTION:The generation of such a turning abnormality that the turning state does not correspond to the operation of a steering gear due to the lateral slip of wheels becoming excessive during the turning motion of a vehicle is detected by a turning abnormality detecting means 1. Upon detecting this turning abnormality, a driving force control means 2 controls the driving force of the vehicle so as to reduce the lateral slip of the wheels. In such a turning control device, the steering resistance of the steering gear in the case of detecting the turning abnormality by the turning abnormality detecting means 1 is increased by a steering resistance increasing means 3 compared to the case of not detecting turning abnormality. That is, it is made difficult for the steering gear to perform further steering so that turning control is performed desirably. |
