A packaging device for rigid or flexible containers, in particular filled film bags, which are made approximately triangular or drop-shaped in section is described. The device comprises a conveying means for conveying the containers in succession to a delivery device, a delivery device (4) which delivers the containers in succession to a receiving cassette (7) situated underneath, a receiving cassette which can be rotated through 180 DEG situated under the delivery device for the formation of at least one layer consisting of oppositely directed containers overlapping one another at least by their pointed end sections, and a laying-down device arranged under the receiving cassette. The cassette receives a container in the zero-degree position and, after rotating, the next container in the 180 DEG -position.
