A hinge adapted to be fitted between a vehicle body (4) and a pivoted member (2) forming part thereof in which counterbalancing torque spring means (20) is incorporated into the hinge. The torque spring means may be attached at one end to one of the hinge arms (8), the remainder of the spring means tending to coil around the abutment means (23) secured to or formed integrally with the other hinge arm (6), such that the spring is uncoiled as the hinge is closed, thereby generating a restoring force tending to open the hinge. |
