MANUFACTURE OF INFRARED IMAGE BUNDLE

摘要

PURPOSE:To improve the flexibility and infrared penetrability of an image bundle by bundling plural fibers obtd. by spinning a preform having a specified triple structure, spinning the fibers and thereafter cleaning the above by an alkaline solvent. CONSTITUTION:A preform having a triple structure obtd. by cladding the outer circumference of a core rod made of chalcogenide glass transparent in the wavelength region of infrared rays with 'Tefron(R)' resin to form a primary clad and cladding its outer circumference with chalogenide glass to form a secondary clad is spun to obtain fibers. Next, this fibers are plurally bundled and spun to obtain fibers having plural cores. Then, this fibers are cleaned by an alkaline solvent constituted of an NaOH water soln. having >=10pH to remove the secondary clad.
