MAGNETIC RECORDING MEDIUM

摘要

PURPOSE:To obtain the magnetic recording medium for high density recording which decreases drop-outs by coating magnetic layers by a specific system. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic layers are provided by coating a substrate with a coating liquid for the 1st magnetic layer contg. an epoxy compd. having at least two epoxy groups and coating this layer with a coating liquid for the 2nd magnetic layer contg. a polyisocyanate compd. simultaneously or by a successive double layer coating system while the 1st magnetic layer is in the wet state. The epoxy compd. acts as a dispersant to improve the dispersibility of ferromagnetic fine powder and, therefore, the excellent electromagnetic conversion characteristics of the ferromagnetic fine powder are fully exhibited and the remaining epoxy bonds are strongly bonded to the binder. The dynamic strength of the magnetic layers is extremely increased in this way and the magnetic recording medium for high density recording which decreases the drop-outs is obtd.
