<p>PURPOSE: To obtain a conversion circuit from a binary dither picture to a multilevel picture by obtaining OR of the 8-bit output of a register and MSB (most significant bit) of a counter and providing eight OR gates for supplying as the multilevel of a central pixel. CONSTITUTION: The inputs 17 and 18 of 18 to 5 1'S counter 10 grounded to be used as a 16 to 5 1'S counter. The 4-bit outputs remaining except for the MSB of the counter 10 are moved to the left by four bits and the counter is multiplied by 16. This is constituted by inputting the outputs of the counter 10 to the high-order 4-bits of an 8-bit register 20 and grounding the low-order 4-bits of the register 20. When the inputs to a 3×3 window are all 1, the output of the counter 10 is 16 which produced 256 values when multiplied by a gain of 16. The MSB is connected to the outside from the output 10000 (16) of the counter 10, and by connecting it to eight OR gates 30 an 8-bit gray values 255 are obtained. This output value is converted to one of multievels of prescribed 16 steps and the dither value of the central pixel of the 3×3 window becomes a converted multilevel image.</p> |
