MODIFYING METHOD FOR POWDER RAW MATERIAL OF GREEN SHEET

PURPOSE:To develop a powdery raw material for forming a good-quality green sheet by heating the powdery raw material for the green sheet of a ceramics circuit substrate utilized as the substrate for an electronic equipment and removing adsorbed water and thereafter treating the surface of powder by a coupling agent to make this powdery raw material hydrophobic. CONSTITUTION:Moisture contained in borosilicate glass powder described below is reduced to a specified amount. Thereby the physical properties of a green sheet are uniformed and quality of a ceramics circuit substrate is enhanced by roasting the green sheet. The borosilicate glass powder is utilized as a raw material for the green sheet of a ceramic circuit substrate utilized for the multilayer circuit substrate of an electronic equipment. Therefore powdery borosilicate glass is heated e.g. at 250 deg.C for 5 hours in the air to remove adsorbed water. Successively the surface of this powder is treated by a coupling agent and thereby the surface of the powdery borosilicate glass is made hydrophobic and thereafter the green sheet is produced. The physical properties of the green sheet are stabilized and the quality of the ceramic circuit substrate obtained by roasting this green sheet is uniformly enhanced.
