摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To simplify a device configulation and to easily reduce a size and weight by measuring the time of propagation of a magneto-elastic wave, generated by an exciting means, between detecting means at two places, and detecting the displacement of a weight and finding acceleration. CONSTITUTION:When a pulse current is applied to a driving coil 13, the magneto-elastic wave is generated at the part where the coil 13 is wound and propagated in a high magnetostrictive magnetic body 12 to generate a detection pulse P1 at a 2nd detection coil 15 and a detection pulse P2 at a 1st detection coil 14. The distance between the coils 14 and 15 along the magnetic body 12 is calculated from a specific expression based on the time between the pulses P1 and P2 and the propagating speed of the magnetoelastic wave which is measured previously. The position of a weight 11 is determined by the force that the weight 11 receives in proportion to the acceleration and the balance between compressed coil springs 16 and 17, so the displacement position of the weight 11 is found from the difference between the propagation time when the acceleration is 0 and the propagation time corresponding to certain acceleration. The displacement position is proportional to the acceleration, so the direction and value of the acceleration can be detected.</p>
