PURPOSE:To economically construct a tunnel by reducing the excavation sectional surface by constituting a different shape multiple shield machine from each single circular excavating device installed on both sides and at least two small diameter excavating devices installed between the single circular excavating devices. CONSTITUTION:A shield cylinder 1 is constituted from each shield part 1a having a large diameter on both sides and a shield part 1b having a small diameter which is continuous at the center part and superposed. Each excavating device 3 having a cutter 2 corresponding to the diameter is installed on the shield part 1a on both sides, and a central excavating device 5 having small diameter cutters 4 in the upper and lower parts is installed on the center shield part 1b. A bank is excavated by driving each excavating device 3, 5, and each device is advanced through a propulsion jack. Accordingly, the torque is reduced by reducing the diameter of the cutter 4 of the excavating device 5 for the different shape part of a multiple shield tunnel, and a tunnel can be constructed economically. |
