PURPOSE:To eliminate the need of manually setting a stop value by providing a stop and exposing time setting means which obtains the difference of distance to an object corresponding to two specified areas and sets the stop value and the exposing time based on the difference of the distance and the brightness of an irradiated optical image to an image pickup means. CONSTITUTION:The respective focal areas A and B are specified at two focusing positions on the object and the distance difference between A and B is obtained as the depth of field based on information on the movement of an image pickup lens in accordance with the autofocusing control to the respective areas A and B. Based on the brightness information of the specified photometric area which is sampled, plural sets of the appropriate combinations of exposure (stop/ shutter speed) are selected and then one combination is selected according to the distance difference between A and B out of the plural sets of the appropriate combinations of exposure. Thus, the stop value in accordance with the depth of field need not be manually set according to experiential knowledge. |
