PURPOSE:To make improvement in display quality by coating the front and rear surfaces of a glass substrate with reflection decreasing coats which decrease the loss of the transmittance by the reflection of light. CONSTITUTION:Color filter layers 3 for three colors, R, G and B and a protective film 2 for protecting the color filter layers as well as a transparent electrode film 1 are provided on the glass substrate 4. The front and rear surfaces 2 of the glass substrate 4 are coated with the reflection decreasing coats 5a which decrease the loss of the transmittance by the reflection of light on the glass surfaces. The loss of the transmittance by the reflection of the front surface of the glass substrate is, therefore, suppressed and the efficient taking in of the light from a back light is possible. The bright and easily visible display screen is obtd. in this way and the display quality is improved. |
