PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for a D latch circuit component and to increase the insulation between the input and output by latching the on-state of a switch with a circuit comprising the combination of an N-channel enhancement MOSFET and a light emitting diode. CONSTITUTION:When an input signal is supplied to input terminals +,-, an input side light emitting diode 1 is lighted to light up a photovoltaic diode array 2. A photo-current flows by a photo voltage to turn on an output MOSFET 3. Then a current flowing from an external load flows through the MOSFET 3 to light a diode 4 and to light up the diode array 2. In this state, when no input signal is applied and the diode 1 goes off, while the load current is flowing, the diode 4 is lighted and the MOSFET 3 keeps the on-state. The MOSFET 3 is turned off in the absence of the input signal and the load current.
