<p>PURPOSE:To simplify, lighten and miniaturize the feeder and reduce the cost by providing a single drive source for a plurality of paper feed means in common in a paper feeder main unit side and selectively driving the paper feed means. CONSTITUTION:A forward/reverse rotatable pulse motor M1, which serves as a common drive source for a paper feed roller 34 of an envelope feeder 32 and a paper feed roller 43 of a cassette paper feeder 33, is provided in a paper feed main unit 30. Driving power of the motor M1 is selectively transmitted to one of the paper feed rollers 34 or 43 by a drive transmission/switching means 50 formed by combining a one-way clutch and a gear train consisting of two systems of which rotary coupling direction is reverse each other. Reliability is improved while making device constitution possible to obtain its simplification, weight lightness, miniaturization and cost down by eliminating necessity for an electrically connecting means with a single drive source only required.</p> |
